- twist sock is a tightly twisted sock base which creates a more durable item with sharp stitch definition. Don't let the name fool you though, it is quite frankly just as soft as the 85/15, the only difference is the twist.  It is great for any projects but especially great at holding up to heavy wear for items like socks.
